The statement underscores that six Russian citizens came under EU sanctions in March 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"SimpleBlock-module_p__Q3azD\">The list of officials banned from entering Russia includes European Parliament President David Sassoli, as well as Jacques Maire, the special rapporteur on Alexey Navalny\u2019s poisoning at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"SimpleBlock-module_p__Q3azD\">The six other sanctioned officials are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Ivars Abolins, Chairman of Latvia\u2019s National Electronic Mass Media Council;Maris Baltins, Director of Latvia\u2019s State Language Centre;Jorg Raupach, Head of Berlin\u2019s Prosecutor\u2019s Office;Asa Scott, Head of the laboratory of Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Security at Sweden\u2019s Total Defense Research Institute;Ilmar Tomusk, Head of Estonia\u2019s Language Department;Vera Jourova, Vice-President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-testid=\"source-block\" cite=\"https:\/\/www.mid.ru\/en\/foreign_policy\/news\/-\/asset_publisher\/cKNonkJE02Bw\/content\/id\/4719537\" class=\"SourceBlock-module_root__1P3XD\">\n<p>This practice runs counter to the UN Charter and fundamental standards of international law. It is accompanied by anti-Russia hysterics fuelled by the Western media. There are no grounds for this attitude.
